Default I'am rent server by other hosting, and i need help here!

Hi, well i am new to hosting servers, just bought one from Gameservers.com and now i got the client program updated and running, but when i try to add my server to the admin client program, it says "TcpClient connection to xxx.xxx.xx.xxx.xxxxx timed out"

please anyone help me on this matter, it is a server i bought so me and my friends can play online on a server where we choose what kinds of mods we want to play.

if this might help you help me and my friends, it is a Battlefield Bad Company 2 server, it is public and it is ranked.

and the client program i use is Bad Company 2 Command Center

Are you putting your IP address frome gameserver ?

And the port is 48888 and the password is your account number.

when i try using 48888 as port, i gett some error saying it culd not connect and becous it got rejected, it is written in norwegian, so to transelate it correctly is tricky hehe, but dont seem to work

i have a server from Gameservers too and i've got no problem to connect with BC2CC. Just fill the IP Adress from your server, Command Port is 48888 and for passwort go to: Gameservers Admin Panel -> Click on Config tab on your Server -> Remote Admin Password: xxxx

I would see if you can ping the host IP...open a CMD window and type the following at the commandline:

ping <your server IP address> and hit Enter

It should give you like 4 messages with roundtrip times. If you get "request timed out" or something similar then you're not reaching the address at the network level...

well, i did what you just said tehdude, and i am able to ping the server, i got 32 ping it says, but still i cant seem to gett acces to the server through Battlefield Bad Company 2 Command Center

as i've said, i have never had my own server before, but i didnt think it wuld be this ammount of truble to gett it working, anyone else know what to do :S ?

so we've ruled out the network for the most part.

What version of the BC2CC are you running?

Also, is your computer running any firewall software?? You may need an exception added there to let the traffic thru.

If using a router make sure its setup to allow the traffic.

you just have to eliminate these one by one. There's something that needs to be tweaked or adjusted.

I know what it is he is not Back Spacing the NUMBERS to _____ On all the fields before filling them. There are numbers there but you cant see them. Have seen Number of occasions of this. Hit Back space 3 4 times and hit delete 3 4 times before filling in the boxes.

Yeah its wierd when you initially click the admin port number is there but its not visible if you hit backspace you will notice that there is numbers

Ah...I see. thought you meant the IP address. But no haven't had the issue with the port. Still worth a try tho

Its all good mentioned it somewhere else and the guy was having same problem and that was the problem so most likely his problem as well.
