Downloads: Uploads: | All I know is that there will not be any ranked dedicated server except from legit game server providers. That is the same concept they had with BF2. However I've heard nothing about privately run unranked servers. I guess we will not know until March. At least it's rentable dedicated servers as compared to MW2 IW-NET P2P fiasco. ~SgtBilko -----Original Message----- From: Tyson [mailto:twisted (AT) com] Sent: den 30 januari 2010 01:07 To: 'Call of Duty server admin list.' Subject: Re: [cod] help I can't say where I got my info, but EA chest pounding about supporting Dedicated Serves is just that. I already know there will be no Linux version and with the route BFBC2 went I'm pretty sure EA will take same route with BF3. Two very anticipated games did it, one succeeded already for the most part in the big wigs eyes. If BFBC2 scores anywhere what BF2 did in Sales you can bet EA will consider very hard taking same or more extreme route with BF3. I just simply will not be forced into the same artificial markets they created for Consoles to get more then the initial $50-60 dollars from the game. I want new games, but not at the cost of fragmenting our gaming community's to the 8 or 16 that will fit on their crappy listen servers. Downloads: Uploads: | I was referring to BF3 not BC2. BF3 will not have Linux servers. EA is going Windows only on all future releases. If they get away with what they are doing for BC2, they will certainly do it with BF3 and all that will be available is overpriced Windows based Ranked servers. They will force us into artificial markets just like they do on Consoles. Future games will not be clan/community friendly at all. Downloads: Uploads: | Just a question regarding the "fake" dedicated server stuff that will be available in BC2 : where will be located theses "servers" ? I hope that at least they put some infrastructure in each major country/zone the game is sold in, because if, as a french gamer, I have to connect to an american server, what means at least 160ms ping, it won't be smarter than the crappy P2Pish MW2.
