Default [cod] Running Multiple Server's from one set of CoD4 files [Windows]

Hey all,

I know this is a Linux Mailing list, but it's the only place I can think of
for asking this.

I need to run 3 CoD4 server's from one set of files. (Unlucky the server
doesn't have enough HDD capacity for 3 sets of files.) All 3 of the
server's need to run mods, promod Live on 2 of the server's and a basic
console text output rotation.

I know in Linux environments you need to add fs_path to the startup command.
Is it the same for windows?

Cheers guys,

Hello

fs_basepath is broken in CoD4, well not totaly but that varible doesnt
reconize .ff files properly. In order to share a cod4 install you have to
place the map and or mod .ff file(s) on the shared install, ie, the master
install.

Just do the master cod4 install like yu normally do but in the mods folder
place the mod folder with ONLY the .ff file(s) and in the usermaps folder
place the map folder with ONLY the .ff files for said map.

Awsome write up Tom. Just one thing tho, you do not need to place the .iwd
files on the master install location. All you need is the .ff files. The
fs_basepath reconizes .iwd files just fine. The issue is with .ff files.

Hey all,

Update time, I've followed the above guide, and I see this in the console
(along with all the other stuff) , Unknown command "fs_basepath=D:\CoD4" and
Unknown command "fs_homepath=D:\CoD4".

Any ideas?

Cheers,

- Sion

Default Re: [cod] Running Multiple Server's from one set of CoD4 files[Windows]

Hey,

The start-up command looks like this:

"D:\CoD4 Servers\Source\iw3mp.exe" fs_basepath="D:\CoD4 Servers\Source"
+fs_homepath="D:\CoD4 Server\CastianaServer" +set dedicated 2 +set
sv_punkbuster 1 +exec castiana-server.cfg +map_rotate

(This is the "vanilla" CoD4 server)

Cheers,

Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to
build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying
to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning.

"This is how it works. Whatever you sink, we build back up. Whomever you
sue, ten new pirates are recruited. Wherever you go, we are already ahead of
you. You are the past and the forgotten, we are the internet and the
