hey all, this is the map me and Komaokc are going to make.

Story:

Earth 2156 A.D.
After all the world's recourses have been depleted, the 2 big factions, west and east, go out to space to collect valuable minerals and water. Over the years, thousands of space stations were made. Now the earth is under attack by an alien race, out for more inhabitable planets. The aliens look exactly like humans but they have an unstoppable desire for blood.
Now they are trying to cut off the world’s recourses supply by taking over the stations, to stop them, the space stations started making special traps in their entrances to stop the aliens from taking over. Now it’s your job to stop them!

The spawn limit is 64, specially made for the i3D servers.

If you want to test it, it would be very great, the download link with the work we've done so far is at the buttom of this message.

Put the .bsp in you cstrike/maps map, and startup css, open a create server and test our map. If you've done a really great job, we will include you in the credits. (Look for bugs, changes etc.)

If the sky doesn't work, warn us, and we will update it!

Right, first thing i noticed is that the spawnpoint looks BEAUTIFUL. Really well worked, and the waterfall (Water in space? :S) although a little quirky looks amazing.

Spawn Analysis
However, one little thing to think about is possibly making it open sooner. (It seems like it takes a little too long for the main doors to open)

- Laser to kill AFKs is very imaginitive and fits in well.

There are some problems with the laser:
- It does not reach all corners of the room, so those silly people that like to keep you waiting for the fun of it can stand in all 4 corners of the room, or against the front and back walls, and not die. (See Screenshots
1 & 2)

- Players can jump on top of laser and "go for a ride" on it. (Was a lot of fun i must admit ) Thus, escaping death, should fix it so players cannot stand on top of it.

- As far as i can tell, there is no other way to bug the laser and stop it from moving. I tried crouching by it, standing by it, jumping on it, running at it. It still moves along nicely

CT Analysis

Trap 1
- Nice use of airaccelerate when the doors open.
- Trap is something new, I don't think I've seen something like that before, using the speed boost.
- I also like the way the floor come between the jump later in the map.

The trap took me a few good rounds to master.
Very good starting point

- I don't know whether this was intentional, but when the terrorist activates the lasers, the CT can quite easily jump clean over them without taking damage. (See Screenshot 1)

Trap 2
- Very well blended
- Hard to see, and is a surprise.
- Even with flashlight, It's very difficult to see

I suspect this trap will catch a lot of CT's off guard when the map is first introduced
Trap 3
I checked trap 3 over and over, jumping in different places and crouching between the gas clouds, but I can't see any way to bug it. It lasts, imo, around the right amount of time and is effective. I would suggest cranking it up to 35-50 dmg instead of 20, because someone can bunnyhop up to the gas and get through with just 20 dmg.


Trap 4

My favourite trap.The way this trap works is very unexpected. When i first arrived i though i would have to jump onto the bollards. Works very well. But i would consider making the gaps between the spikes slightly smaller, because its very easy to get through, even at a run.
The door at the end of trap 4 takes far far too long to open. You shold use some function to make it open when the first CT reaches trap 4, not do it by a timer ^^.

Trap 5 (Blue Lasers)

Very Clever, unexpected. Quite hard to airstrafe round, although i did manage to do it once. Works very well.

Trap 6 (bridge)

Brilliant trap. Very original. But why is the button to activate it on the other side, when none of the others are? I don't understand that ^^.

As i was on my own I couldn't test to see whether you could escape sliding off of it, but I will do next time. Very good trap.

Trap 7 (Controlled Laser)

Absolute Genius. A laser that the terrorist controls. Brilliant thinking!
And it works pretty well too
I must admit it was very difficult to get used to, but after a few minutes i got it
I did noticed one problem though.
When i wanted to stop controlling and move on, i couldn't release my control. Ramming crouchJump, pressing e, moving, noclipping, all had No effect. You must try to fix this.

Altogether, the map is very well made, with very few (And minor) bugs. The map looks very good and runs well too on a good fps. So far, an 8/10. Just those few improvements to be made, and some more traps to be added


So far this is just a brief review. I'll post much more detail soon, with indepth Terrorist and Counter Terrorist Bugs/Changes etc.

Btw, hazzkake, the laser stops at that side, because no ct spawns were made there. I made 62 spawns in an area, and none of them are after the laser. So that's OK If you understand it^^.

here, the laser stops there, because it's the end of the path. After 10 seconds or something it's off

And then one more thing, the laser isn't for people or something, it's just for people who are afk. The laser kills the afk people, and won't allow afk'ers to ruinate the game.

The Idea is, that you have to run like hell and very fast, trough "barrels" and then get to the door. When the T presses a button, a pusher has to bump and crash the ct and make him die. Then, after 3 seconds the door opens, but this is only if the T activates the trap. But... What if the T won't press it at all? would be bugged, so there's a timer, after 30 seconds the door just opens itself .

In that case, it will only be the masters that get thru first time ^^
