![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Ok I found out I can use no draw for the other side of one sided brushes if I want to make a pillar for example with different textures on it. Should I just make the sides out of multiple brushes with zero thickness or? edit ok thx number 23 I will try out this shift+a! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Im just a noob with hammer also but I always make sure of the following. Just dont make a skybox from one brush, only put it where it's needs to go !! With no draw you put this texture on all faces that you will not see in game, Load up de_dust on dedicated server and go to spec and then zoom out you will see that you can see into the map as they have added no a lot of no draw on many walls. All brushes apart from the ones which stops players falling into the voild/out of the map should be func_detail. If you have a map which is very open and you can see alot of the map from one area this tends to lag, best to design the map so this does not happen. and also there is a fog entity which blocks vision so this means you get better fps as you cannot see for miles ahead. There are some more complex things but so far I have not tryed. |

I have the sliding doors figured out, but I want them to make a Ping! or Ding! kind of sound when the doors open, does anyone know what this soundfile is argh there are so many sounds! Is it possible to import your own sounds into a level? |
