Beta version of the Advanced AI mod has been released along with a custom urban map:
Have you ever felt that the existing Crysis AI was not all that challenging? Say no more, because Rad15 has released the demo for his new Crysis Advanced AI. The project is a bid to make the Crysis AI behave much more unpredictably, making the game all the more difficult.
What improvements have been made?
Rad15 has changed the tactics the Crysis AI will employ when trying to hunt you down. The following improvements have been made:
Camper class: These guys will stay back and not be all up in your face. They will cover their teammates and suppress you wtih lead, They will also get closer slowly to box you in.
Cover2 Class: These guys are alot more aggresive and will try to get up in your face. They wil fire and move up closer and closer to you. They will take cover while moving up to you, these guys will get and flank you at the worst times.
Followers: These guys are friendlies that will follow you during combat, they will take cover when you stop and when you start moving they will check the area then start moving with you again.
Watchtower: These guys i like to call guards, why, because they wont move unless shot, They will hold their spot until they die, THese guys make ideal snipers and good rifleman for rooftops.
Leaders: These guys will be the higher ranking guys, they act like the cover2 guys, but they can also command them to a certain extent.
Also, don't expect the AI to just stand there and crouch while you snipe at them. Instead, they will start spraying where your shots are coming from with bullets.
Installation guide:
1. Go to your Crysis game folder -> Electronic Arts -> Crytek -> Crysis -> Mods.
(if not existing please create this folder inside your Crysis root folder)
2. Copy the mod folder from the downloaded file into the current game folder (Crysis/Mods).
3. Start Crysis, use the modloader to load the mod.
4. After restart of Crysis, open console (^) type in "con_restricted 0" (without the "") enter and then type in "map mapname" (without the "" whereas mapname = the name of the map you want to load located in the mod level folder in Mods/Game/Levels folder)
The Advanced AI also comes with a sample map in which you can test it if you want to.
