Half Life: Day One was designed exclusively for OEM partnership and was often bundled with graphics cards. It was never available to the general public. Half-Life's actual demo (available free to the general public), Half-Life: Uplink, was released several months after Half Life: Day One
64Bit Vista users make sure you right click properties and "run in XP SP2 mode or else it might not work. i played the game up until i was supposed to go into the test chamber but the one scientist just stood there and wouldn't scan his retina in the machine so i couldn't go on.
