i3d Cup Commences!

After many unfortunate delays, the groupstages of i3d.net Battlefield 2 Cup is ready to begin this Monday, with a 5000euro prizefund up for grabs!

After 3 months worth of delays, the i3d.net Battlefield 2 Cup is ready to begin, with 40 teams split between 8 groups ready to compete over 3 months for the prizefund valued at over 5000euros! The groups and rules have been finalised, and matches will begin this Monday 12th February, so start arranging your matches! Unfortunately there have been a lot of teams which have dropped out, but it is expected that the cup can still be a success.
The maplist for the first 4 groupstage weeks has been announced, with the following maps being played:
Week 1 - Dragon Valley / Gulf of Oman
Week 2 - Dalian Plant / FuShe Pass
Week 3 - Zatar Wetlands / Strike at Karkand
Week 4 - Daqing Oilfields / Sharqi Peninsula
Week 5 - To Be Confirmed

There is also a reminder to ensure that competing players have filled in the last 8 characters of their PB_GUID on their i3d.net profile, as without this the player is barred from playing. There are also some players without a name for their profile, and they must fix this problem.

It's not possible as far as we know to see on the website which team will play vs who in which week, but you can see the number of the team in the group on the poulespage, and we can say the following:

In Week 1: (bye = team 4)
Team 1 vs Team 5
Team 2 v Team 3

Week 2: (bye = team 2)
Team 1 vs Team 3
Team 4 vs Team 5

Week 3: (bye = team 1)
Team 2 vs Team 4
Team 3 vs Team 5

Week 4 (bye = team 3)
Team 1 vs Team 4
Team 2 vs Team 5

Week 5 (bye = team 5)
Team 3 vs Team 4
Team 1 vs Team 2
