Bongoboy wants to add his 2 cents and added a new blog about the use of the Opressor and his Tactical Shield. Well, among their other charms and admirable qualities, GDF defence turrets won't shoot through Tactical Shields. That's right, if you can plant a Tactical Shield in front of a GDF APT or AVT, you can smother nearly all of its engagement arc. It'll only last for 40 seconds but then you could whack another one down, and another. Of course you could also sneak past an APT by moving from the shelter of one Tactical Shield to another. But smothering enemy deployables in glowing orange bubbles of harmlessness just seems sweeter, and more evil. Obviously Tactical Shields are particularly handy for protecting reviving Technicians, indoors and out. In a more subtle way, Tactical Shields can be more of a psychological obstacle than an outright preventive wall, influencing attackers to behave in a certain way rather than absolutely preventing their movement or firing opportunities (a bit like laser trip mines, in fact). Read all about it o here. This news was orginally posted on www.QuakeWars.net |
