Default Changing Gametype CoD4 via FTP

Herewith a small tutorial on changing the gametype on your CoD4 gameserver

To start:

Use a FTP program (SmartFTP) to connect to your server.
When you are connected, go into the "main" directory. Now search for the file: "server.cfg".

Download the server.cfg to your desktop.

Open the server.cfg with wordpad (txt). Now scroll down almost to the bottom of the page. You will see this:

To change the gametype you have to edit 2 lines in this part of the server.cfg.
First you have to change the gametype and after that you have to change the maprotation.

To change the gametype:

Change this (sd) into the gametype you like. You can choose these gametypes:

In this config above the game is running search and destroy (sd).
You can see why because the gametype is set to sd and the maprotation is also.
How can i see that sd is selected in the maprotation?

Take a good look at the maprotation.
With all gametypes you see // in front of the gametype, maprotation lines which look like and start with: //set sv_mapRotation

If you take a good look you will notice that the gametype, maprotation from search and destroy (sd) isn't starting with //.
This means that this gametype is currently active.

To set sd to inactive, just put // in front of the maprotation.
To activate another gametype, just erase the // in front of this gametype, maprotation
(and offcourse change the gametype at the gametype part).

Now save your server.cfg and upload (overwrite) it back to your gameserver.
Go to the i3d controlpanel and restart your gameserver. Voila!

I hope this helps the serveradmins who ain't familiar with CoD4 (yet).
I also hope what i wrote makes sence.
It was sadly not easy to explain, but really easy in fact to do.

Please note: this is also possible using the i3D.net controlpanel:

Login to our website, go to gameservers, details, Start the configuration editor

You don't need an FTP client and don't need to use notepad.
