Soldiers! The management of the i3d cup just announced a preview of the official rules for the Call of Duty 4 EUROCUP 2007/2008! Please take your time to read the following rules. Use a new topic for questions or suggestions. More general rules to come. Are you ready for this battle?


1. CUP Format
The EUROCUP will take a format of 40 teams split into 8 groups. Each group has 5 teams. A clan will play 4 matches in the group stages. There will be one match per week during the group stage. The group stage begins in December (no ETA yet) and ends in January/February.

Eight group winners and eight runners-up enter the final knockout rounds. The winner of this cup will be decided in a maximum of four rounds. The final match will be played in February/March.

2. You can download the official ClanBase server config here.

3. All matches must be played with ModWarfare Mod installed server as default.

4. All servers must have ClanBase PunkBuster configs installed and stream to Game Violations.

5. Using servers that do not authorise players original cd-keys from Activisions master server (cracked servers) is illegal and will result in a forfeit loss.

ouch, isn't a little too much 8 matches for the group stage? anyway seems interesteing, lets see which team will be chosen.
Any approximate data for the list of team invited / start of the cup? (and btw with christmas and so on i guess that groupstage will finish more in mid febbruary than the end of jannuary)

trust me that a lot team will try to prepare those kind of shitty map to win against team better than them.
It already happened to us in clanbase ladder where our opponent player overgrown that, to be honest, isn't played even in the publics server.

Oke vanuit competatief oogpunt maken jullie een enorme domper.

Ten eerste, gebruik de MCE-Ruleset. Deze is beter gemaakt voor competitie(b.v Stuns eruit, en enkele andere tweaks). Waardoor het fijner wordt spelen.

Ten tweede de map list.
Als jullie ship opnemen als SD map is dit gewoonweg een lachertje, ten eerste deze map is te klein, en totaal niet gemaakt voor competitie hoogstens kleine 1on1 gevechten.

3.
Maak gebruik van de zogenaamde dam mod, of de nieuwe pam.


Oplossing voor nummer 1.
Download de MCE-Ruleset
meetcommunityeffort - mce/conf

Installeer het als volgens de normale dam_mod procedure

Wat mij opvalt is, dat de maps die liquid noemt allemaal meer in 'de warmere gebieden' afspelen. Zo ontbreekt overgrown, downpour etc. Waarom?

Omdat dat geen competatieve maps zijn .
Mischien overgrown een beetje, maar is niet echt een fijne map om wars op te spelen

Heeft niks met warm/koud te maken.

kijk het is simpel. als je als minder goede clan tegen een sterke clan speelt is het het beste dat je een map kent die de tegenstander niet goed kent. zoals in cod2 ook vaak gebeurde met maps als decoy, trainstation, etc...

vrij lame, maar ergens kan ik het begrijpen want iedereen wilt graag winnen, maar toch het is totaal niet fijn om een map te spelen die niet door de community gespeeld wordt

What is the problem with Lmg's?

Just disable double tab, fast reload and extreme condition, and LMG's are nothing.

Playing without reddot is not a big problem, you just have to get used to it.

i think CB ruleset is best for now. Lets talk about the config after the cup. This is the problem with all configs, everybody is complaing without really testing it in a big cup.

I have an idea. They should just remove all the maps. Covert the CoD2 maps to CoD4. Replace the guns with WW2 weapons and then this cup would be a big succes.

I really don't see how some players can believe that removing flash/stun nades and red dot scope is good for the game. This is modern warfare people! Go play CoD2 if you're not happy with it.

Call of Duty 4 EUROPE CUP

The rules are:

The i3D.net Call of Duty 4 Europe CUP will follow the MCE ruleset (more information: MCE website).
CUP Format
The EUROCUP will take a format of 40 teams split into 8 groups. Each group has 5 teams. A clan will play 4 matches in the group stages. There will be one match per week during the group stage. The group stage begins in December (no ETA yet) and ends in January/February.

Eight group winners and eight runners-up enter the final knockout rounds. The winner of this cup will be decided in a maximum of four rounds. The final match will be played in February/March.

Using servers that do not authorise players original cd-keys from Activisions master server (cracked servers) is illegal and will result in a forfeit loss.

All clans are required to enter a match lineup before every match and enter the match score after every match. Failure will result in removal from the cup.
