English - New server rules for i3D.net TX M1k3ols MM...

I have been playing on i3D's servers for quite some time now. I, and many others, have enjoyed hours of fun and competition. M1k3ols MM server has, for as long as I can remember, been open to all levels. No one complains about levels there because we all understand and desire the challenge. I myself bring my low level royal toons to compete against higher level nats because I, and many others like me, enjoy the challenge. I also play my higher level and mid level nat toons vs lvl 30 royals because again, I like the challenge. All of us do!

However now you have, for some reason unknown to us, changed the server rules and autoadmin (or whatever it is called) to kick certain levels if it deems your level too high or too low...Really?

I saw one of my buddies on your MM server and decided to join him. Turns out it was in pre-game so I decided to wait on some royals to show up. Too bad for me though! Your server decided I was stat padding...I'm level 25. The friend I joined on is lvl 30. How exactly am I stat padding?

Just the other day I was playing on Dreads Despair and after 6 awesome rounds of fun I got kicked because 1 person joined that shifted the "fair level" and I, being at level 24 at the time, was now too high a level.

Are you really going to stick with this? Are you really going to sacrifice the happiness of your regulars so that a few random lowbies will play on your servers for a few rounds before running off screaming "IT'S TOO HARD!"?


Lastly, you need to regain control of your servers. I have not seen an admin on M1k3ols MM server in months. Yeah, I know I am not there 24/7 but I am there often. You see, I am disabled and heavily medicated. I drink, smoke, take my meds, play BFH, do a few chores to keep my wife happy, and play more BFH. Just about every regular knows who I am and knows my story. They know I suck one day and rock on another. They know I can be an ass or a cool guy...I say all this only to validate my statement that you need admins on your server. NEWS FLASH! Punkbuster does not catch every cheater! I know, it's not really a news flash. I really am tired of seeing a cheater clear out your server because we have no way to get in touch with an admin and you never have admins on the servers.

That's all I have for right now. My apologies if I posted this in the wrong section. It looked like the right place to me. I'll be checking in frequently to see how this plays out as well as becoming much more active on the forums now that I have found you.

PS. If you want me to fill out an app for an admin spot I would be more than willing to oblige you. I want my fun server back!

FYI: I haven't been able to play a single game on your servers because of your idiocy. I join a lvl 30 friend (that's a royal) and the server still kicks me for stat padding.

Sorry there hasn't been a reply here. Im guessing the BFH Head Admins are very busy at the moment, but I will drop them a personal message on your behalf asking them to check out this thread.

Remember though, that many have real life and other virtual obligations, and whilst that is not an excuse, perhaps a little more patience could help the situation. That or attempting to contact them direct might yield a better result.

Except that we don't see admins on the servers so there is no way to know who they are...

Perhaps reading my post would help the situation. 5 days...I've worked, remodeled my floors, and dealt with school issues regarding my son since I posted this. I'm pretty sure an admin could have read AND replied to this by now...Unless you guys don't like to make money...

Hello Uhlspetznaz.

We have been very busy yes. We have just renamed and changed maps on all the euro servers, aswell as adapting a new admin tool (xtianrcon) and welcoming 6 new admins.

At the same time we are shifting Head Admin for the US servers, so we have all been running around like headless chickens.

I think the new tool we have been using may have been setup wrongly. To my knowledge we do not use Auto kick for level balance on i3d Communityservers. so this is probably a mixup in the setup procedure.

we DO however kick for level balance if we deem a certain high level player is making the server unbalanced and ruins the fun for the rest of the server, but in your case it sounds like an autokick, which is an isue I will adress with the rest of the admin team.

and no.... i3D admins tend to want to be anonymous... we dont enter a server and announce to the world we are there... and most of the time we have multiple servers open in the tools observing for language abuse, hackusations etc. etc.

As for your specific kicks I would ask if you have a screen of the incidents, because even with autokick in place, what you describe, shouldnt be possible.

I would also like your BFH playername, so I can run you thru the logs, and perhabs find some answers there.

As for the time of an answer, I am sorry, but we are all unpaid voulenteers, and we do have our private lives next to this, which also needs to function.

[UHL]SPETZ lvl 25 Mando. I now know if I will be kicked because a phrase comes up saying "blah blah statpadding is not allowed". If you keep a chat log as well you will see that I usually say something about the fact that I am not "statpadding" right before I get kicked. I even tried NOT saying anything to see if maybe I was tripping the chat spam filter but I still get kicked. Seconds after the warning about statpadding I get a message that says "[UHL]SPETZ is being kicked for statpadding" or something like that.

Here's the deal. M1k3ol's MM server is not a low level server. We always have level 30's playing there. I hope your new changes to the server tools don't change the server so much that we end up having to find a new place to play.

This does indeed sound very odd.

Xtian or AA does NOT use "statpadding" in their automated process.

1. AA have it disabled all togethter
2. Xtian look like this

I would very much like to have a screen,,, especially if it keep happening on that particular server, it tells me you have been banned from it.... which is a manual act from an admin.

I have never been banned. Hell, I've never been banned from any servers. I'm an old man that plays this game with his son. That's how most people know myself and my son because our characters look the same...

My son is [uhl]panda for the most part but we also have [UHL]BILLY and [UHL]BOB.

In fact, if I had been banned from my favorite server I am quite sure I would have been here sooner trying to find out why.

I'll log on the M1k3ol's MM server right now and see if it kicks me so I can get a screenshot.

The server was full so I had to wait before joining. Then I joined and it was empty...

I'm assuming that because I was the only Nat it did not see me as "statpadding". I will try later when there are more players to see if I can get a screen of the server kicking me.

Perhaps it was fixed with a recent update of the tool or maybe one of the tech guys fixed the code or settings. Let's hope it is resolved. Either way, I'll let you know later on today if it happens again.

Wanted to get back in touch with you. I apologize for taking so long. I've been in and out of surgery since we last spoke.

It appears as if the issue worked itself out. I tested it with an empty server and a full server and it has never happened again. As well, I tried about 5 of your other servers. All to no avail. Of course, that is a good thing!

Well it is doing it again.

I tried to connect to M1k3ol's MM server on my lvl 14 royal soldier, [UHL]Barney_Ross, and it kicked me for "stat padding". I tried to connect on my lvl 15 royal mando, [UHL]ALTAIR, and it kicked me again for stat padding. I then got on my lvl 16 royal gunner, [UHL]BILLY, and was allowed to play.

Please note during the time there were several "higher" level nats, 19-22. I also tried to join on my lvl 26 National mando, [UHL]SPETZ...Again I was kicked for stat padding.

I'm not sure why this is happening. I have included 2 videos of me being kicked on Barney and on ALTAIR.

Please let me know what you find.

UPDATE:

I tried connecting again with [UHL]Barney and ALTAIR and I was kicked again. However, this time the message is different.

It says:

Server Admin KICK: [UHL]Barney_Ross, you have been previously been kicked for being idle on purpose multiple times, statpadding is not accepted on MM servers

The thing is though, this character is a very new character. I made him last week. As well, I don't put up with AFK xp on my server much less on others. Eh, my son once tried to stay afk while he went to go make a sandwich and I fussed at him over it. I'm not sure if my name got added to some list on accident or what.

Please note that after getting this new message on Altair and Barney I then tried to connect on my gunner BILLY. Again, I was able to play on the server with him. After being on the server with BILLY for a few minutes the server shut down. It was listed as 'offline' for a few minutes. Once it was back up I tried playing on the server with [UHL]Barney_Ross and this time I was not kicked.

I am not sure what is happening. Do you think this is a random event that happens to random people or was the issue fixed and that is why I am able to play now?

If it happens again I will PM you and post here as well.
