| For the LULZ! | When 1.8 releases, its going to be more about adventure and survival.. And seeing as we are going to have a new map I was thinking about possible changes to make to the server, to mirror this update. The question is, would you guys be happy to make this more into a survival based server? Obviously, survival can be chaotic, and there is always the risk of people TNT'ing your buildings/bases etc. Would you enjoy the added risk of this, or would you rather keep it as it is, where all you do is build stuff without any risk. These are some of the things I would suggest changing. Allow anyone to build.. - I'd like to get the server more popular and get more players. Having restrictions on players drives people away. I'd also like to get more of a survival feeling going. Allowing anyone to connect and build will mean you need to branch out, only group with people you trust, watch each others backs etc.. Building is fun, but it gets boring. Remove No Creeper Damage. - Kind of obvious, creepers are part of the game and having to deal with them makes you be more careful and more aware of your surroundings. Read more on: : i3D.net Game Forums /minecraft/174065-regarding-server-1-8-a.html LWC Limits. - I was thinking of maybe making it so you could only lock 1 or 2 chests (single or double). Again, part of the survival side of things, the main risks of a survival server are getting raided and your items stolen, this will allow you to keep your precious items safe. But you'll also need to learn to defend the rest of your stuff. (Hidden bases, buried storage rooms, etc.) No more altering the time/weather. - If it rains, deal with it, if its night, work inside or take the risk. Thats about all I can think of right now... Opinions, thoughts, ideas, suggestions, feel free to post and let me know.

Downloads: 0 Uploads: 0 ![]() | I actually completely agree with all of this, I like firemail's comment about huge buildings, especially the likes of ramons, as cool as they may be? o_O. I think only 1 locked chest with lwc would be good, especially if it's going to be an open server theres going to be a lot of hackers who will use xray hacks and stuff to steal stuff from people chests, so 1 locked chest will at least help us keep some bare essentials safe. |

No creeper damage is annoying, but even more annoying are the holes that people leave behind. Then there will be a problem with lags because any person can join, now it already starts lagging when more than 7 players are on

And the problem with pure survival is you can't be online 24/7. If someone gets mad at you for whatever reason (good reason or not), said person can start harassing you like crazy, destroying everything you try to build or collect - and nothing can be done. And that is not fun. On another note, I have never really understood the survival aspect of this game. Kill zombs, gain items. And then? Is that more fun than building large structures? | |

Holes in the ground make this game more realistic

| For the LULZ! | Yes, we play survival, but its not really survival. At the moment, only people you trust have build rights, you have LWC on every chest, you ask for the time to get changed whenever its night, no creeper damage... etc I don't mind the way it is now but I want to get it more popular, at the moment it's the same 3-4 people playing, and that's it. Considering we have 32 people with build rights, only having 4 active players is quite disappointing.

I mean, you can store all your precious materials in there (diamonds, gold etc..) Everything els, well... it has some risks but if you stick together with the people you know/trust, atleast you know they will be watching your stuff as much as you return the favor.

But it truly lags when more people are on, like yesterday when 9 people were on, you saw people reconnect quite often to get rid of the blocks that keep coming back

| For the LULZ! | New question for you.. How about having multiple worlds you can switch between? Creative/Survival/Whatever. I'm currently experimenting with this on a local server, and its not too complicated, I just need to make sure I can lock down permissions/commands based on the world the player is in. Inventorys would be on a per world basis, so you cant jump to creative, spawn 64 diamond blocks and then jump back to survival ![]() I think this might be a good idea if I can get it running smoothly.
