i have read in game informer that there is going to be issues with large groups that go into online multiplayer, and get divided onto both teams. call me an angry fan-boy, but this could lead to alot of frustrations with people who want to get all their friends together to play on the same team and use full-team coordination and strategy.
i myself have had minor frustrations with this issue in the demo, and thus i have taken it upon myself to post this. i have thought really hard about what other games do to solve this kind of problem, and i have come up with some possible solutions to save alot of frustration.
now, im no computer engineer, and i have no idea how difficult/expensive this would be, but one solution would be to 'tweak' the server to look more for matching up large groups of players depending on how many players go searching at once. say if a group of about seven people go into an online game, the server could look for another group of people around seven (not exactly seven of course) to play against. once put into the lobby, other people in smaller groups would be searched for to be put on each team to make a full twenty four person lobby. i have noticed that the halo 3 server functions almost identically to this method in terms of matching up groups, and the results have been a widespread of satisfaction.
another suggestion that i have noticed would be to make a secondary playlist for each gametype that only single players are allowed to enter into. i have seen this method be used in COD MW2 and it was called 'mercenary' meaning that only seperate players would be allowed to search, however i disagree that they should be forced into game chat. this would be a great solution because it is fairly easy to do, and possibly much less work than re-coordinating the server all together.
now, i understand that the game is coming out very soon, and this is not logical nor possible for you guys to do in such a short period of time, but keep in mind that you could very well do this through an update, as most companies do their problem solving that way.
