Uitleg over pb updaten in server!

Ik leg hier kort uit hoe je het snelst pb kan updaten in je server. ik doe het in engels omdat er meer mensen op dit forum kijken.



METHOD ONE

Step one: Login into your AA server as admin.



Open AA and find the ~ key. Type in this command:

Code:open xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx?password=yourrconpass
*NOTE* Change xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx with your server IP address, replace yourrconpass with your admin password set in your armyops.ini file on the game server

Step two: Enabling PunkBuster.

Open the consol screen by hitting the ~ key and type the following command and hit enter.

Code:admin pb_sv_enable

Step three: Saving the PunkBuster config file.

Once again open the consol screen by hitting the ~ key and type the following command and hit enter.

Code:admin pb_sv_writecfg


METHOD TWO

Step one: Open Notepad

Open notepad and copy and past the following command into it.

Code:sv_punkbuster 1

Step two: Saving the config file.

Go File > Save As and save it as pbsvgame.cfg

Step three: uploading the file via FTP to your game server.

Connect to your server via FTP and upload the pbsvgame.cfg to the System/pb folder.

Step four: Restart your server

Restart the server through your client control panel at i3d.net


Punk Buster is now running. Good job.


**NOTE** Once enabled punkbuster will be outdated and will require an update.

your post just handles how to "enable" pb on the server which isnt that hard since with the command "PBHelp" in the console the commands are displayed.

The most important and (for me) difficult thing is to get PB of the server updated (which im still trying to do)

I owned a server before and they had a button in the panel to update pb. here you have to do it yourself since in my case at least it doesnt update by itself. i tried putting in the new file from evenbalance.com to no avail and same for pb_sv_update

or maybe im to impatient... is there a time indication how long the update could be (btw the console just gets spammed with message that there is a older version of PB running)

What i did is delet the whole pb folder and copy a new 1 of a other server then you dont have the problem.

But you dont have a sec server i think.

now i wish i would have saved the pb folder of my old server hehe, if ya can send it sure would save alot o trouble

you will have an outdated version after a reinstall.

so after a reïnstall you first have to set your server.ini , otherwise you can't join as admin.

type the console command admin pb_sv_update several times, sooner or later it will update...

unless the server does not kick you, becouse the server runs outdated version.

and that's why providers should have an option
"update punkbuster" in their controlpanel.
