still wondering if its secure to use that kind of software. it could easily track what you write and send the information to the host. just imagine they analyze your wordflow and find out what your password is ...
It could, but it doesn't.
yeah, that's what I was thinking of too, but then I thought "they've got thousands of users, I imagine it would be hard to find passwords in all of that data".
why do you know?
would be very easy
find the word "facebook.com" - the next word will be the username, the next the password. if the user logged already once in with the same username, then he just enters his password.
this can be done with nearly every site - pretty sure you could find out 60-70% of the passwords
Ofcourse lot's of inactive also.
The project is there since 2004.
imho the amount of users doesnt proof anything. they can release an "update" that includes word counting, letter counting. As you have already seen on the website, they show you on a heatmap the keys you pressed the most. which means they dont only count the keypresses, they also count what keys.
Any update can easily integrate such sniffers and tbh, knowing what you type would be a very good marketing analyzing tool because what you write represents your field of activity.
I wouldn't be amazed if they sold their data to advertising companies.
But what the hell, if you are ranked #1, what do you win? A new keyboard?
but I rarely (if ever) enter facebook.com, I often just press f and then click on facebook in the drop-down menu.
Okay, I'm out again.
