Default Re: [ut3servers] Patch 3 is desperately needed.

True, it doesn't happen very often but when it does its a pain

There is an issue with custom maps on any UT3 server. Seems to be random,
but when running a custom map, it will DL to the client either by server
or redirect. Then the client gets kicked with a message saying they need
some package to join but the package it is in fact stating the client
needs is one that comes out of the box with the game. Then the client and
most others cannot join for the next map or two as a result.

This is a huge problem which I'm sure adversely affects the UT3 servers
populous.

I don't think the custom content is doing that bad. The mappers and
modders have had to adjust to a completely new engine and scripting. I'm
running the Battle Freezetag Arena mod on our server. It's a blast, and
the clan loves it.

Since patch 1.2 my windows server is running smooth and stable. I just
wish Epic would hurry up and get gametype and midgame mapvote implemented.

That's a better way to convey that a patch is needed. I haven't had the
problems people have reported, but I admittedly don't play on many
custom content servers, either. Past UT games have thrived on custom
content, and I will be the first to admit that the custom content
support in UT3 has been pretty deplorable compared to past UT games.
