Downloads: Uploads: | I sent an email about 5 months ago in regards to some editor issues. My team was requesting these issues be resolved in context of the -mod switch. These issues are outlined in the email forward below. I wonder if either, or both, of the issues have been rectified. As of now they don't seem to be addressed, however, I'm hoping they are hidden beneath the cracks. Thanks, Jeff On Fri, Nov 21, 2008 at 3:52 PM, Family Man <jeff (AT) jeffsfolio (DOT) com> wrote: Topic_1: Open dialog box within UEd3 while using the -MOD switch. Problem/Issue: The file dialog box opens in the "my documents/my games/Unreal Tournament 3/" folder instead of the "my documents/my games/<ModDirectory>/Unpublished/cookedPC". This is a complaint I have been getting from my team and they seem really irritated that this does not point to a directory even close to where it should logically be. Resolution/Solution: When using the open menu command within UEd3's main program or generic browser that uses the -mod switch; the open dialog should already be within the "my documents/my games/<ModDirectory>/Unpublished/cookedPC" folder. Topic_2: Loaded Packages (Maybe this is already there but I thought I would list this here anyways) Problem/Issue: Some of the packages which contain materials and assets which everyone should be sharing do not currently stay loaded unless you load them manually. Resolution/Solution: Have a place where we could maintain a list of packages that should fully load on UEd3 startup. As a suggestion, this list can be placed in the ini file's within the "<modDirectory>/config" folder. Downloads: Uploads: | I may be mistaken, but i think they are both addressed. The paths are controlled in the UTEditor ini, and i discussed this in my tutorial, they still work the same way. I have not tested this too elaborately so i apologize if i am incorrect. The second is also in the ini's, specifically controlled by the UTEngine.ini You should be able to add your packages to the Engine.StartupPackages list i would assume. I played with this when my team was running into cross package dependencies, but we fixed that issue and i have not had to revisit it. [Engine.StartupPackages] .... Downloads: Uploads: | Hi Josh, 1) It doesn't do this for me. It actually started in the c:/Games/UnrealTournament3/ folder. 2) Sweet, this works! One more thing if you don't mind. Is there a way to get all the packages that are loaded when the editor starts to unload or not show up until they are needed. For a TC, all these packages just clutter the space with unneeded packages. Thanks! Downloads: Uploads: | No offense... but is it really that big of a deal? The simple thing to do in this case is name your packages with a prefix: {MOD}_Textures.upk or something along those lines... then all of your packages are in the same area... I know it would be nice not to have all of UT3 packages, but its nothing that should be slowing down production work... I love that we can have our packages loaded but there is still a huge amount of packages that load up which have no relation to our mod. Thanks! I think this didn't get mentioned in the changenotes. My team was requesting these issues be resolved in context of the -mod switch. These issues are outlined in the email forward below. I wonder if either, or both, of the issues have been rectified. As of now they don't seem to be addressed, however, I'm hoping they are hidden beneath the cracks.
