Downloads: Uploads: | I am embarrassed to say that my server still suffers from the server name problem. I looked through my list notes and I came across this message I am replying to. I tried the suggestion but it does not work: [Engine.GameReplicationInfo] ServerName=(CoA) House of Ass ShortName=UT3 Server MessageOfTheDay=Welcome to a UT3 Server! When I put my server name in the "ServerName=" spot above my name goes from (CoA) House of Ass To: (CoA) House of Ass: House of Ass - UT3 (in the in-game browser) I want to change the name of the server. Is the only way this can be done is by changing the gamespy login ID and password? Would swear that I read somewhere that this should work? or there is a different way to do it? I asked my GSP and they said it could not be done. They told me: "We cannot fix your server name, that's a feature of UT3, all servers have their owner names on them." Cheers! Downloads: Uploads: | Hi - thanks for the reply. I did look at that: Server names can be specified in the server's INI file, as of patch 1.1. The ServerDescription field isn't in plain ascii or text as you and I know it. Instead its in UCS2 aka UTF-16 which is then serialized as numeric strings. So the only way to name a server is the text that is "serialized as numeric strings." I thought there was a way around that which allows you to use the ServerName= section from the [Engine.GameReplicationInfo] section or does it need to be UTF-16 in the [Engine.GameReplicationInfo] section? section? Something seems wrong here. Setup as it is my sever name shows up as just (CoA) in my server monitor at gametracker.
