Has anyone had any issue with your favorites showing up as 9999 and
still being able to join the server??

Ever since last weeks Gamespy Fiasco It hasn't been the same after
about 20 refreshes I can get them to Show Pings, Note ALL the servers
in the List are up and functional and are in the regular list, But As
soon as it gets Added to The Fav's all the servers bounce 9999
randomly. I have PM Flak to no avail.

Note this is not a Firewall/Server issue It worked fine before Gamespy
Bit the big one last week.

Mine has been doing that since the last Gamespy update months ago. My
server doesn't show up in the master list anymore but is joinable, and all
my other favorites ( besides crazyladys ) all show a ping of 9999

Well, atleast it was few days ago. Now the server itself is down, so I
don't know whether GameSpy issue was fixed or not :)

We've brought the server up, but still see it in the favorites list as
if it's offline (999 in ping column, no player list, etc.), but it's
joinable. And, of course, the server doesn't show up in the common list.
Don't see anything suspicious in log either. How
    GameSpy-advertisement-related warnings should look like?

UT3 is insufficiently verbose, so I used external utility.
First of all, I tried to fetch list of servers from GameSpy using GSList
(you can easily find it in google)

    >gslist.exe -n ut3pc -X "\hostport\OwningPlayerId\hostname\p1073741825"

    2>&1 | findstr "62.140.250.36"

    (reformatted for readability)

    62.140.250.36:6500

    hostport: 7777
    OwningPlayerId: 235477959
    hostname: Torlan.ru Russian Funwars
    p1073741825: WAR-Downtown

    62.140.250.36:6501
    hostport: 7778
    OwningPlayerId: 171107815
    hostname: E.P.R. clan server
    p1073741825: VCTF-FeelGoodInc

So there are (at least) two UT3 servers on our host. 6500 is ours, I
don't know much about the other one though. It's shared server hosting.
So, *they are in the list*.

OK, let's check the Query Protocol too, maybe there's something wrong
with it. This utility can do that too.

    >gslist -d 11 62.140.250.36:6500
    >gslist -d 11 62.140.250.36:6501

I won't copy-paste output this time, enough to say that they are
responding. So it cannot be a (trivial) firewall issue.

I've launched a game and checked a list. Our server is still kind of
offline in favorites, and both servers are invisible in the list.

One more thing. I've asked people on the server, and asked whether they
see it or not (we have an announcement about issue with "open blabla"
instructions). Some people see it, with ping and player count, some don't

    Now I don't think it's a Gamespy issue. It seems it's a UT3's one.
Servers are in the list, query ports are open and responding. What else
is needed to make it appear in the game list?

P.S. Note to all subscribers. Don't sent 8-bit messages, even if it's
latin-1, they'll go in /dev/null. Spent a day figuring it out.

Hello! Month has passed and the problem still persists.

    Here is couple of notes:
    - Some people see our server in list.
    - Starting UT3 with Administrator permissions... enables it to show up the
    server!

This weird things points to Gamespy's bug as before.
    Please dig and fix it!

I doubt it's a Gamespy bug. More likely there is an issue in UT3 itself,
since external query utility works even when it's launched unprivileged,
like I posted above (by the way, sorry for all those duplicates).
Starting UT3 as admin actually makes me see this server. I also believe
there are many servers that I (and others) cannot see because of this thing.
I can also guess that people who see this server always run game
privileged, i.e. using Windows XP with the only admin account.

  16. I can also run as Admin and see the servers. However this does not address
the bigger problem of other people finding my servers who aren't savy about
such things and don't know to (or care to) search forums about it. I have
tried to contact those friends of my main server who frequent it but can't
reach them all and will never know how many visitors I am losing over this.
I am willing to jump through hoops to keep my server alive, but I don't know
    what else to do.
